The Gisborne Singers are proud to announce their performances of Gioachino Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle will open at Church of Christ, New Gisborne on Sunday 17th May, followed by St Ambrose Parish Hall, Woodend on Sunday 24th May. Both performances will commence at 3p.m.
Free afternoon tea will be served after concert.
The Singers will be supported by full orchestra and 4 professional soloists

Rossini is best known for his opera such as the famous Barber of Seville, but late in life he composed many other works including this “Little Solemn Mass.” Later generations have recognised it as a fine piece, full of attractive melody. Certainly the choir have taken to it with gusto and are enjoying it immensely.
