For the first time at the new hall of the Monetessori School in New Gisborne, we treated an appreciative audience to one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best loved musicals. Semi-costumed, witty introductions to each scene, and quite a deal more movement on stage than we are used to, we enjoyed exploring new territory with this concert version of Iolanthe, a comical, satirical take on 18th century Brittish politics, society and woodland fairies! |
